I'm not actually sick. But I feel far from healthy. You know that queasy feeling where you're not sure what the hell is going on and no amount of better food or vitamins, hygiene or rest seems to help so far.
And obviously I don't drink the water from the pump... I just shower and do the dishes in it.

Anyway, as I said, I'm leaving soon. Couple of days in Cebu, then fly to Italy.
Hopefully I'll be better soon-ish

Interesting points - Legionnaires' disease, for example, well known to be caught from showers (the microbe is dispersed in the water droplets) and when plates dry, the microbes may remain on them, either as the organism or in spore form (with viruses just remaining inert until they enter a living cell).

Certainly you have some points and I am not hesitating to give them to you.
Many things need to improve in Duma. Traffic and trash solutions need to be found. I guess nobody can have seriously a different opinion about that.

Me personally don’t know a better place in Philippines than southern Negros. I know better countries, but my wife is from here, so no option to move ahead.

By the way, I am not exactly convinced that Rome and Florence are more clean compared to Duma. Pollution in Rome is exorbitant and Florence has, like almost all cities in Italy, an enormous trash problem.
Would be nice if you could post your observations after arrival.

Your the man,not forgetting dogs roaming the streets all hours, some with no hair anymore, pigs being slaughtered every morning the sound reverberating only 500 metres from the Hyper Mart. The rubbish left out on the street then strewn everywhere by the roaming dogs, like you i gave up,left a nice house, only the wife goes back, being a filipino they just pay it no mind,me i just can't stand filth and noise pollution and people having a lack of pride in their country.

Hey....your spot on....built a house in Bacong......people burning trash daily..had to leave my home ...many time the smoke from burning PLASITC was so bad. The beach near our place is littered with trash....wife says it just Filipino way....I regret building there as I must vacate now...

I live here in Bacong and hate when the local burn trash and plastic, but tell me where they don't do that in the Philippines. You are also right about the trash on the beach, special after a weekend or holidays where people who not live at the beach come here for a picnic and swim in the sea. I just want to tell about my experiences, 2 weeks ago I had a bad day, and smoke come in my apartment, I took a bucket full of water, go there and put water on the fire, 5 places with fire and wind direction direct to my apartment. I "talk" in a way the could here me in Valencia haha and ask who make the fire. I need to go back and forth to bring more water, then a guy I never have seen before come and say sorry many times and help bring water to put out the fire. Normal I have a good relation to the locals but yes one week the smiles were not that big as usual lol. Later my gf told me the guy who apologizes was a priest on a visit to the people who burn the trash, my language was not something they use in the church on Sundays lol. Nearly every morning and afternoon I have a walk on the beach with my dog and most times a have a talk with someone. To me, it seems like no one cares about nature, but there are a group of young guys I always talk with, all topics miss universe, sport, fishing, bikes, education/work life in general. They told me they start organizing a 2 days beach cleaning, brings together a group of volunteers and they get already money from the barangay to trash cans. There are smell reefs here with corals and fish but it has seen better days, they want to restore the reef too. I'm not that naive, I know it will not be tomorrow, but I like their way of thinking, it shows me not all do not care
