On one non working escalator there was a girl stood still halfway down the escalator staring at her cell, as I was walking down past her I said this escalator aint working. I got the blank stare look.

[ouls be sending QUOTE="PatO, post: 198688, member: 1857"]As a person with disability, I wish, if only one direction escalator was working, the down one rather than the up one was working. I don’t mind so much making the climb up but the down one is unsafe for me. Still, not that big of a deal and worth complaining about.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, the only purpose of complaining would be, if we knew that someone responsible for Robinson’s financial success was monitoring the expat forums and seeing a message that, for some is us, our money is going elsewhere due to the undue inconvenience of non-working escalators that most normal people would have the gall to assume should be working, at least 95% of the time. They could also activate their elevator but they rarely do that. It is very unlikely that they care very much; large business here for retailers and companies such as globe sometimes do not seem to go for absolute maximum profits as in the US, they just seem to aim for satisfactory results, just enough to maintain their presence on the market and satisfy the stockholders so they can control their entitled management positions. The escalator issue is simply a management decision, perhaps something as strange as the savings in electricity outweighing the loss in profits even from people who have relatively, a lot of money. But that would be a stretch; more likely, they haven’t had the money to fix it, I suppose for the same reason that their ambitious expansion seems to be on hold. I agree that there is not much point in complaining but I do vote with my feet as a consumer.

It's like my experience with the dentist (upstairs where the escalators don't take us) after filling in the holes in the teeth of my nieces, the dental nurse then informed us it's due to bad hygiene typical in the provinces. I waited for her to continue with advice for the girls on dental hygiene but she didn't, so I asked her if she actually educates patients on how to properly brush their teeth? I got that blank stare look.
