It will be tough as it is the father who has to apply uk citizenship for the child,he would also have to have an online interview in cebu. The whole process takes around 6 months. Total cost is around £200

Looking online it appears that a form MN1 is required ? Registration (Form MN 1) fee: £936 This might explain the father's reticence

I know if the father obtained U.K. citizenship by descent himself then he cannot pass on U.K. citizenship to his child.

If the father is a uk citizen by birth and the childs name is on the birth certificate and no other issues there should not be a problem. Ive never heard of anyone having to use that form or paying that sort of money. Cost me under £200. Its just a matter of applying for a passport which gives the child uk citizenship.

Her options are ZERO, unless the husband gets on board............the 1st thing she has to concern herself with is get a filipino passport.......if it such a thing that they do get a British passport, she better have the two of them before she flies to the uk........if they attempt to leave the phils just on a british passport, with no filipino passport..SHE WILL BE CLASSED AS AN OVERSTAYER, and will to pay all fines associated with being an overstayer.

Well, it's very surprising to me that UK fathers are able to give birth in the Philippines... And then the even bigger question is who is now the mother - is it the father or the mother? Just kidding, guys! It's just that the title of this thread is a bit unclear. - Or are they really all gays??

You said you are just kidding but perhaps not a kind reply to a sincere question asked by a member on behalf of a friend who obviously has concerns. Clearly the father is a UK citizen and it seems the mother would be a Filipina - the title was clear to me. Unrelated to this thread, BUT whether or not any person is gay is no more relevant than if their eyes are blue, brown or whatever.

Need to be careful regarding a UK passport application in terms of name on the passport. If a Philippines passport is already issued then the name on the UK passport will need to be the same. They will make exceptions on this but it's a pain to go through.
