Woow....sounds like an expensive deal there. I will have to be clear about everything or have another venue option which I will finalize today.

    I don't know.
May I add my name to the list also please. I am ok with any start time of the lesson but would probably agree that 11am is a good time. 3x per week would be plenty for me.

I did not see your original post until now. How are you for class size? Room for one more? Do you have an idea for cost per session yet (maybe give us an estimate of what you are thinking based on if class size is 8)

Since we are getting started on June 4 at 10:45 am to 12:00 at Cafe Sofia, Tip Top Hotel across Don Bosco School, it is best to know how obligations can be done:

Option A: Down payment (at least 1k, the balance to be settled within the month)

    Option B: pay in full

    Option C: weekly (540/week)

Whichever option is suitable for you, go for it.

Receipts will be issued guys. Thank you.

Hi Glenda, With regards to the payment method, I am ok with all the options. However, with regards to a comment that you made previously of 'the more the merrier" my opinion is that you have enough in the class now with the eight confirmed plus the likelihood of 'AlwaysRT' joining us, that is a total of nine. Speaking just for myself, the class size should be kept small, Bisayan is difficult to learn, It's a slow process and apart from being in a class of fellow students which in itself should be good fun we will all require some individual teacher time, too many students prevents this from happening.
That is just my own humble opinion however others may disagree.

Yep! I know and it was just a matter of jest that I said it. In fact, there could be less than 8 who might be able to make it since one said he could not possibly join So let's keep our fingers crossed as the class will proceed even if I only have 1 student.

No, OzeMike...this is supposed to be ongoing as Binisaya cannot be learned quickly----it is soooo different from English. We start with the basics moving on to more difficult lessons but you may join anytime you wish. I'll see ya then. When you come, I will review previous lessons. I will go super SLOWWWW this time compared to the first time I offered this in which I had a lot of assumptions. Now my assumption is only 1: You are all learning and hearing the language FOR THE FIRST TIME, and as such, you are still in kindergarten. Lol No kidding.

    Thank Glenda for clatilfying.

How do you handle that approach when some of the students will be more knowledgeable with their Binisaya that others and want to go to the more diffucult lessons sooner? With a class of around 8 I'm thinking one on one teaching is not very realistic so we all learn as a block? But if students join at different weeks,as you outlined, surely they will need some individual tution how will you handle that?

Sorry to ask so many questions just trying to understand how the class will work in these situations.

Over the 8 years I have lived in Cebu and now Dumaguete I have learnt many Visayan/Cebuano words but not enough to engage in meaningful conversation with a local. But I know some expats are more advanced and close to talking fluently.
