Exactly. That happens a lot but when you really keep track of everything, they are easy to catch. It happened again to me just this lunch. A food product I ordered for takeout was punched twice---imagine punching Php 198 twice! That really makes a huge difference in your bill. But I am always careful to go over the bill, count my change, etc.

One has to be smarter than these small thieves.

    What about the big thieves?
Not to long ago I had PLDT in my house and my Go-Pro grew legs and walked out the door with them. Lesson learned watch PLDT like a hawk when they are in my house. A ₱24,000.oo camera!

I never "run a tab" in a bar. If the bar is new to me, I will check the price when ordering, and in any case pay when it arrives. And I generally leave a tip when leaving.

Being British and I am sure many Brits will agree we Pay as we Go, it is our way and then we do not have any problems.

If you pay for your first drink with a 1000 peso bill I would think you would count your change to make sure it is correct.

Bin here too long to pay for anything under 1000 with a 1000 note, We should all be aware of where we are and what we should expect but yes I always check my Change. That was never the meaning of the Post but to help alleviate any problems with Bar tabs and we know that they happen, In fact I/We check everything even the Food order before it gets Cooked
