I had a letter sent fedex from the U.S. It arrived within 2 days delivered to my doorstep..Very efficient but VERY expensive. Im still waiting on a package sent a month ago standard Us Post and have yet to receive it!
My experience is that you take a chance with *standard* ie..even US express mail delivery. It goes into government postal channels here. A family member tried to send me a few oz packet thusly.. 35 bucks.. and I did get it.the postman who had it was ..one..trying to find me approx 3 miles from where I resided.. two..only happened to walk up to other foreigner and ask if he knew me..and he said yes..and the postman turned it over to him. Best you try FedEx..whos packets get repacked into LBC packs along the way to me( again my experience) ..OR find a LBC agent in the USA..then have packet and box delivery other than balikbayan boxes ..while still expensive.. you gotta do whatcha gotta do.. speaking of balikbayan..again my experience..is its really getting slower .and LBC is getting ready to raise their rates..this I got from *insider* info.. My last few boxes.. ok 4-6 weeks to get to Manila..but again 4-6 weeks in country so dont ship parishables or something that is rat food unlessits in cans. my malt takes a hit every time ( grain )
I just had documents mailed to the US (Virginia) via LBC. P1270. They claim 3-5 working days. I'm going to send a second copy tomorrow via FedEx tomorrow to make sure one of the two gets there. Johnny Air would be nice but currently no rep in Dumaguete. I will post which makes it there first and what the cost was.
Just maybe use Air21 for the 2nd packet? They are the ONLY people that the US Embassy trust.. I mailed my passport with them round trip to Manila.. but I still had to go up later and pay for it in person.geesh.. worth asking if they do international packet shipping I think. on Real street across from the BDO I only know Johnny air in Bacolod.. In Florida there is no near LBC, but I want my friend to use Fedex instead but receive in Philippines as an LBC package , how can I do that?? If ever if you know an address where FedEx is located in Fumaguete City
Its my first time having to sent/receive something through FedEx, I wanted to ask if the address that I would use to deliver my item in dumaguete is the address or Air21? Is that it?? Do I pay additional fee of it if the person all pay in the other side?
Sent to you or from you? Sent to you just have the person in the Philippines and send the shipment via LBC to your address. Sent from you just go to the nearest USPS or FedEx location, write the person's address on the shipment and send it. If they send it they will pay. If you send it you will pay. Naturally, it won't be as cheap as sending something within the country it originated from.
