So have only been here a little over a month so my wife (a dual citizen) and I try to get a Globe phone plan. No such luck - I am an American without a job (retired). My wife (dual citizen) - showed passport - denied because her old TIN and passport are different. The security risks - the sales lady in Globe took pictures of everything on her personal phone!! She even showed me a picture of a German that she had "trouble" with. I don't know how many pictures with personal information is on her personal phone but it was a lot.

Just a word to the wise on my experience!! Not pleasant.

That's odd as the office in at Robinson has a photocopier.

Strange. When I bought my Vivo I walked over to Globe, spoke to one of the ladies out front about getting a plan. She asked me if I had a credit card, they don't deal in cash, I said yes. We discussed the various plans, I picked the one I wanted, paid for it and was on my merry way. The account is in my name alone. I am American and retired too.

No Globe line where I just moved to so Globe set me up with a prepaid Wifi with usage plans going up to 100gb for 1499p for 30 days (65gb for 999p for 30 days, 40gb for 599p for 15 days). Better than no internet). I had a slower pocket Wifi but only 8gb max

Have PLDT Unlimited Fiber Wifi, a landline, Roku TV, Kiddie watch

Smart ...along the years several phones, an IPad with smart bro, postpaid cell phone lines...once had 3 postpaid lines...the same time. Had smart internet for a long time until I switched to PLDT.

Pay your bills before the due date...not a few days after the due date.

I was never asked for proof of income....gave them copy of US passport.

    I’m retired.

    hey pat...

    fwiw...
i use globe wifi with a prepaid promo; GOTSCOMBODD70 or GOTSCOMBODD90 and get as high as 40mb down in the wee hours but between 100kbs and 7mb during the day (it changes thruout the day/year depending on data traffic, location, etc.

    GOTSCOMBODD70
₱70 for 1gb, 7days, unlimited texts to all networks using your modem dashboard.

    GOTSCOMBODD90
₱90 for 2gb, 7days, unlimited texts to all networks using your modem dashboard.
i don't know if a person could use the text app in a mobile with these promos but the dashboard sms works.

1gb per week usually works for surfing for me.
for serious downloads/uploads, i use globe time browsing in the wee hours.
(₱5 for 15minutes, NO data cap)
get a load and text time to 1111
    https://www.globe.com.ph/help/mobile-internet/data-usage.html

i have separate sim cards for gosakto plans and time browsing to help me keep things straight.

for loading, i got a globe retailer card from Pick and Carry and load it at P&C once a month or less. then i can load myself or the neighbors w/o running to the nearest sari sari.

i've used the above in malatapay, valencia and sibulan with my modem hanging in the window. works for me and my wifi bill is usually less than ₱400 a month.

    Graces Pick and Carry

We have PLDT fibre into the house for wi-fi. For CELL service, we use prepaid, why go to a "PLAN," just cuz we had one in the states.. We each have a phone, with dual sim cards, use maybe a few dozen texts a week (we're seniors), a few phone calls, use maybe four hundred mb of data a month (95% of restaurants have free wifi), i think we spend $20 a month for both of us (wifi more) and that's more than most Filipinos.. We load our phone from our BPI bank website.
