They had been saying that a big airport will be constructed somewhere in Bacong or Dauin---not Basay. Basay is too far away for it to become anything, I am sorry to say. When Basay Mining Corp. was there several decades ago, say more than 3 decades ago, it had plenty of workers so the mining place became alive with activity. However, when it permanently shut down, the whole of Basay had become a no man's land. I think it is a very sad place, especially now.

I have been to Funtasea at least 4 times in the last year and every time I have been the only one there. It has a nice beach but no customers so also very limited food options.. The only time it ever gets a decent crowd is on weekends when people go to the beach.

Have you even gone to Basay? Going to that "paradise" is so high up there----no----I am generally an optimist but getting into any venture in Basay makes me a pessimist.

As a person who has made his living by investing I can only tell you that from Bayawan north is prime property still at bargain basement prices. But to each their own.

Your choice. I have made my living by investing. You don't invest when it is booming. You invest on the edge and let the boom come to you. If you haven't been to Bayawan and north recently perhaps you should. But no, I forgot, a pessimist. You see it as boring. Same things said about Boracay. I see it as Paradise and great financial opportunity. I purchased ocean front property down the road from Satori Cliffs seven years ago. Now property next to me is selling for five times what I paid. Get the picture yet?

In the 60's a man in cold Minnesota bought ten thousand acres in the middle of North Nevada desert, middle of nowhere; now know as Havasu City, Lake Havasu, Nevada. He paid $.10 per acre. Built an airstrip and flew Minnesotan's down to see and purchase. The area became/is a major vacation destination and made him wealthy.
My ex father-in-law bought 640 acres 30 miles out of Phoenix Arizona for $12 an acre... nothing but desert... his know-it-all friends laughed at him.. it is now selling it for $100,000 an acre.. you do the math...

In business you either lead, follow or fail.

Basay may see that kind of progress maybe 200 years from now, if I have to be an optimist. Well, I won't be around by then to see that.

I am not interested in any kind of investments in the Phils @all, but have to admit that not everybody is a wise nose like you. So wish you have the time of your life to live to the fulliest with the profits you will made on your investments.

Thank you RR_biker. I intend on doing just that. It was not the money that drew me to my investment along the cliffs of Nagbo Alao, Basay. It was the beauty of the mountains growing right out of the sea, the beaches and the simplicity of life that drew me there. Progress is a double edge sword. I was merely trying to pass on the opportunity to invest before the boom.
