Every Christmas a lot of people in Dumaguete would try to find time to travel south from Sibulan all the way up to Bais or even farther just to see and compare the beautiful Christmas trees that the towns have constructed in their parks. Of course, there's the random eating (food stalls are available everywhere) usually follows after the selfies or the mini "train ride" around the park in Bais City.
Then there's Dumaguete's Christmas attraction which was featured on national TV---known as the Christmas house, this house turned into a dreamland glitters everywhere you look. Dumaguete's Christmas house is located in Piapi, somewhere near Neva's and Sta. Teresa's resto.
However, it seems like there isn't much action happening in towns somewhere south. It has always been Bais, Tanjay, etc. that attract the interest of people. On the other hand, I think towns located in the southern part of the province starting with Bacong, Dauin, etc. do not seem to gain as much attention as those towns in the north, although someone said that Bayawan has also a gorgeous X'mas tree.

That's it! Enjoy your Christmas in Duma!

I assume you mean to the north of course unless Bais has been moved in the opposite direction. Any way, never mind, slip of the pen of course.

Already bombarded with Christmas carols over the PA systems already, (Citimall yesterday, Sept 12th), no wonder Christmas loses it's appeal so quickly in this country. Lucky, I have my Christmas tree up already, 'Humbug' indeed.

Best Christmas tree for me is a char-coaled one.... 4 months of computerized carols in the mall and all the things attached makes me wonder if its worth to move to south west Mindanao for a those months a year...

Well everybody their fun, i will just switch off my hearingaid the spare occasion i have to be in Lee or Citymall. How a really nice holiday got so ruined with four months of shopping spree, jingle bells and red hats every year and people don't start a riot i don't understand.

Can you imagine working a 12 hours shift and hearing 2342124678564 jingle bells every day. I think this is what they try at gitmo to break the hardest terrorists there.

Well, not to ruin other people's 'most wonderful time of the year' so happy holidays everyone!

Four months there would make me go off my head - or the other way around.

You guys know headphones/earbuds are a thing, right? I wear them everywhere I go to avoid having to listen to all kinds of stupid conversations and the constant one-upping of war stories over here (they work so well that I don't have to hear the fat DACs, to lazy or out of shape to leave the shade of the smoking gazebo, yelling that I'm not allowed to wear them outside). I can't wait to get back to a country where I can, once again, become blissfully ignorant of the stupidity that surrounds me at all times without the assistance of earbuds. I'm sure they would work excellent for blocking out that horrible and repetitive Christmas music as well.

    One for every occasion:

A great early present for anyone you care about.

Xmas can be really cool once in 2,000 years or so. The trouble is here in the Phils no-one can find 3 wise men or a virgin. I rest my case.

My home is alraedy adorned with X-mas lights everywhere. I have already zapped 20+ Lizards, numorous hairy catipillars and various other insects. Christmas 4 months of the year? I could do this for 12. Cheers!
