OOOps...excuse me, it's north actually----going south during Christmas has never been a practice. It's always going NORTH of course. My aging fingers just typed it wrongly ...LOL...I want to see if I can edit that.

Bayawan actually appears to have a competition going on about modelling scenes of bible / Christmas history on small stages. Got into that more or less by accident last year and it was quite impressive.

Wow---but we've never gone that far as far as watching and comparing Christmas trees in every town would go. We'd only go as far as Bais, eat there a bit, then head back home to Duma. So basically from Duma, we pass by Sibulan, San Jose, Amlan, Tanjay, then Bais--that's 6 if I count Dumaguete.

It did never come up in my mind to make, for instance, a Sunday trip to visit these places and see what is the result of the local designers for a Xmas tree.

No harm in giving it a try...except that you get to use up some gas in doing so----

A hidden gem for hard-core Christmas enthusiasts is Bacong, the local Christmas tree is built up here for 12 months, right in front of the mayor's office - it's just not decorated all the time. Bring your own gingerbread and you can celebrate the most beautiful feast of christianity the whole year.
