And speaking of Rolling Pin, went to Ludwigs German Bakery across from HyperMart for coffiee and sandwich. Saw a Rolling Pin menu on counter and I inquired about that. The clerk said Ludwigs has been sold to Rolling Pin. New Rolling Pin sign to go up soon.
Someone mentioned Ludwig’s so we went there this morning; they have sesame bagels and we bought a dozen & purchased cream cheese across the street at hypermart. The bagels taste great. Thanks for the information. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spoke to one of the old owners of Ludwigs at the Valencia market on Sunday and they confirmed the sale of the store in Bagacay to Rolling Pin - interestingly Rolling Pin usually have a bread stall in the Valencia Market (located closer to the Ukay-ukay offering) but they were not present last Sunday - so maybe the deal with the sale was that Rolling Pin don't make their usual Sunday offering, allowing the old Ludwig's owner a virtual monopoly on non-sweetened bread in the market.
Rolling Pin was at the Valencia market Sunday just in another place than usual, close to tennis court
I Hope rolling pin continues to bake those 20p Ludwig’s bagels; just as good as the Starbucks 50p variety. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I never went to Starbucks in the USA and I would certainly never go here. Overpriced and just plain bad coffee. Tom Tom's has good coffee but very expensive. Forgot the name of the place to the left of Tom Tom's but always crowded. Sent from my JDN2-L09 using Tapatalk
Instead of just "agree"ing with HC, I will add a SEPARATE comment that ROLLIN PIN is the best in town for bread, croissants, BAGELS, Cinnamon rolls, and Thai iced tea.... I've suggested to Robin and Dimple to add scones, but not yet, Alima still has the best (real) scones. RP has great food too, like Alima..... And for coffee, much rather go to two Bo's three blocks away (north and south) or a Coffee Groove only 9 km away
I love those bagels at the RP. However, if I happen to be driving by Starbucks AND parking is available, I will (would) definitely stop by for a coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese. I did that once. The problem is, I drive a car and not a motorcycle thus ruling me out as a customer in most restaurants in downtown Dumaguete due to lack of car parking spaces. BO's, like it the most in Dumaguete. ( In Valencia, Coffee Groove Cafe is THE place). There is another Bo's at Robinsons and many in Cebu, all owned by a Filipino. Bo's on the boulevard has outdoor seating that allows DOGS. ..
