I visited a local flee market today and found this nice item: A vintage board game "Tour of Luzon" from 1962. It is a bicycle race around luzon, it comes on a wooden foldable box and is still in good condition, even without figures or dice. Seems to be a very rare item, I found absolutely no information about this game in the net. Very nice decoration for our house. It is so hard to find old local stuff in the Philippines, nothing last here long because of the climate, I guess, and the real antiques are already in possession of some rich guys...But I am quite happy with this, for a price of only 100 pesos :-)

thank for your kind words KB - there was a big event today near BIR Dumaguete, a church hall, they have this every 2 years only, it's called Rummege - seems to be very popular here, when we arrived about 1 hour before the official opening already 200 people waited outside - all kinds of stuff and very cheap, but you really have to watch out for older things / little treasures, and you are not the only hunter there :-) friend of mine found a vintage german mechanic clock from the 50's for 20 peso...

I have collected vintage coins and vintage watches for many years and belong to many forums of such. One thing I have learned is how to critique an item in regards to genuine and or fake and all the fine details of intrinsic qualities of such. Even a trained eye could be wrong when trying to dissect the contents of 2 or 3 images .......BUT....

I sense you may have a one of a kind sample (prototype) of a design put forth to perhaps gain investment or to sell as an event novelty (a submission put forth out of many, but may not have been excepted) and perhaps a one of a kind invention so to say that for what ever reason, may not have taken off. This would make it more than rare, It would be a "grail" to the creators family or even to what ever company that absorbed resonWoodTech (if that occurred) and an untold group of viable interests in such a work. IMHO

    - I think you may find that it is handpainted as in the early 60's. Printing was already an exact as far as such items.
    - Also the written copyright may have just been a vision and (the idea of such)
    - The wood frame does not seem after market so to say. I feel that the creator himself fashioned it to fold as in brief style as he walked it to and fro to perspective presentations.

I have posted a link below and may be the only fella that may be able to really confirm what you have, I feel it is a totally awesome piece. Cheers!

I wished to have the Battle of Manila box from Parker 1898 ... Thanx for that cool information , Dude :-) Right now, I am just proud to own a board game that shows up nowhere - hard to estimate the value, doesn't matter, I just love that piece, it's a part of the history of the Philippines and very decorative at our house...never give up chasing some old stuff here and getting surprised from time to time :-)
