As @Aotearoa confirmed, 895/900 (did it go up another 5p last night!) is the take out price, based on their menu - perhaps it was a new member of staff who did not know about take-out discounts. Next time we go shopping with you!
There was a sign that advertised 20% discount on all take out wines. I asked if that applied to the Prosecco, they checked with the owner and it did. I have only paid 750p maybe a few pesos over, never more than 760p ever since. I go there usually every Friday or Saturday to get 1 or 2 bottles.
Just got mine last week. Like I said, they have a sign that says 20% off take out wines. I had them check with the owner and it applied to the Prosecco. I got mine last week for around 750p. Maybe they are like some other places in town that raise prices on drinks after 5 or 6pm. I would not know that. Where else did you find Prosecco? Nice to know another source, if you don't mind sharing? But if they still offer the 20%, then increasing the price to 900p will make it only 720p per bottle. I will save more.
Sorry, wrong info received from the relatives. They went to another place which had the same Prosecco (Lamberti - extra dry) but the bottles looked old so they went back to Pasta King and were told they could have them for 850pesos, after some 'discussion'. Sorry, no other place. I'll look around when I arrive. We only bought 6 bottles just as a possible emergency back up in case we couldn't get any when we arrived.
In my humble opinion, a fresh brewed beer is still the best! About 1 1/2 years ago I bought this Pale ale beer from a Swedish guy who brews it himself. It was the best beer I ever had in the Philippines. His small brewery is located after the Dumaguete City limits on the way to Bacong. But it comes with a price and you have to pay a deposit for the bottles! If you're interested, I can find out the name. Also, there is a well known restaurant/resort and brewery on Siquijor Island where you can purchase your fresh brewed Indian Ale or Pale Ale. They also taste great! - Cheers, mates!
You're a champion. If you could get me his contact that would be great. Even if it's for a few beers to begin with. I'm going to Siquijor just before the wedding so I could grab some to take away!
Okay, I found the name & place again in Google maps. It's "Birdie Num Num Tropical Brewery". I don't like to post his phone number here but you can find it in Google maps. Regarding the Brewery in Siquijor, I need some more time, but hopefully I can post it tomorrow.
I know it is a bit off-topic but talking about craft beers I want to mention the guy that runs a small resort in Bohol, Kayla’a Resort http://kaylaa.com! He operates a small brewery within the premises and they sell the labels on-site. When I was there in July they offered Pale Ale, IPA, Porter, Stout and Lager. I tried everything they had in stock and all labels were high class beer!
@Chriscraft Thanks for the tipp. I just checked out their website and it looks great. I will definitely try some beers there when I go to Bohol.
