Mine is hardwired, getting 30+ Mbps. Sometimes won't load or slow loading. No virus or malware, 8 gig of memory on PC, same as wife's laptop slow.

Sounds like it is more likely your laptop. Do the following and the results may astonish you.

In your PC search, search this minus the brackets ( %temp% ) When that folder appears, go into it and delete ALL. A few files will not delete but a large group of files will. You do not need any of them and performance will jump as it frees up your disk more and uncramps, Now, depending on your browser (all are some-what different) clear your entire History and cookies and check all available options of other choices and delete ALL. I assure you, your PC may seem like a ruddy rocket ship now. Let me know after you do that, Cheers!

Also, depending on your brand of laptop, search your (extensions on start up) and disable all the ones you do not seriously need.

    I don't know.
I see this often when I am accessing overseas websites. It is particularly bad when accessing the USA. Friday evenings and Saturday are the worst.

The way to diagnose this is to run the speed test twice. Once to a server in the Philippines and then again to a server in the country where the website is hosted. Most of the speed test websites give you the ability to change the server that you are doing the speed test against.

Therefore, the problem is not between our homes and the Philippine infrastructure but between the Philippines and the foreign country where the website we are visiting is hosted. I suspect this has to do with the contracted bandwidth between the Philippines and the USA and other foreign locations.

For this reason I have transferred my development cloud resources to Singapore (South Asia) and Japan (East Asia). Neither Microsoft nor Google have data centers in the Philippines. I did not check Amazon AWS.

Here you can change the server location:

Note sure if it's time of day or day or what, but most sites seem back to normal (cable fixed in Luzon??)

Sooo OK, .. I did the ookla to PLDT Pasig, got 20 ms Ping / 79 Mbps down / 46 Mbps up... Then did the same to Comcast San Francisco , got 162 / 85 / 56..

So what am i looking at ?? A BIG ping to the US, is probably normal ??.. I did note that in the FAQ's for Ookla, it says "....No matter the server you choose, all tests run on Speedtest reflect the speed of your connection from your current ISP or carrier. "....

You think a cable was fixed? You did this on Monday afternoon. Try again in the evening or better next Saturday.
