It was sent to old address and forwarded to me today... dated Oct 4 .. I need to courier the return by DHL but they will not send to P.O box... last year someone on this thread gave me a live address to SSA that I could send to but cannot find that thread... If you are out there can you update me on that address... many thanks As a side not one of my friends who sent in their reply in July also received a 2nd notice
I'm not sure if this it, but here's an address and instructions I found for form SSA-7162. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a similar page on the US Embassy in Manila's website, but I imagine the procedure would be the same. There are also email instructions (as a backup or for expediency, but you still must mail). For Philippines I think the email address would be "FBU.Manila@ssa.gov" (per the second link) Social Security Administration Wilkes Barre Data Operations Center Attention: FEQ Analyst, FEQ Forms 7161-7162 1150 E. Thanks for the reply but this OP regularly sends his reply via DHL or FEDex with a signature required and has had no problems in years.. I sent mine in via his address last year with success so want to repeat ... Calling SSA is problematic as this morning wait times were in excess of 1 hour. Just don't want to send to wrong address as the stakes are high
Great! Receipt signature required is a good idea. You may want to also shoot an email to the FBU in Manila. Per a presentation SS gave in Indonesia (Manila office handles SS for Americans residing in that country): "If the beneficiaries have not received the form by November 1, they should contact SSA Manila at FBU.Manila@ssa.gov." (page 34) They may be able to prevent or delay any adverse action pending the receipt of the hard copy in the US. BTW, the presentation has some good general SS info as well. http://www.americansinindonesia.org/docs/SocSecPresTownHall20160617.pdf
Got a letter today from Bacong post office dated January 2018. Must be some snail mail. Missed my voting by proxy papers for today's General election, wonder what year I will get that!
