Are there any Jack Russells around?

 

Some time ago I remember puppies being advertised for sale at Cats n Dogs on the outside window. That's the Dumaguete branch on St Jose Extension Tel 420 9067. You may ask about them (receptionists are pretty good) or if they know the owners to see if you would be able to pick one up or the owners may know breeders. Can I ask why you looking for JR's? Past good experience or as a working dog - they make excellent rodent control dogs but I understand they can be very destructive as they love to dig.

 

Think they're bad, try Dachshunds, we have seven. Garden looks like something out of a first world war battlefield.

I have had them before.
Not so much for rodent control but there are around 25 cats from the neighborhood that make themselves at home here.

 

I went there. They said they had some last year.

I did never had a JR as a dog. My favourite one is the Belgium sepherd dog Malinois. But to get rid of cats in your place almost any dog can do the job. A friend of mine has an askal, so PH breed, can assure you that each cat entering his garden will not get away alive.

 

Belgian Malinois are fantastic dogs and as RR_biker said, I am sure an askal will do the trick but can confirm that my German Shepherd does not allow any cats onto our property - well at least not for very long, with the added advantage of being a fantastic security deterrent as the locals are very scared of such a big dog. Maybe Bootlegger can put you onto a JR breeder - certainly I can introduce you to a breeder of GSD if you wish please PM me.

 

Word on the canine grapevine says the owner of Gabie's Bistro, breeds Jack Russells, good stock apparently. I would expect them not to come too cheap tho.
