Only problem is, they don't have enough kits. Not sure they would know how to trace it and get you the results. But I like the thought.

I went to West Balabag Barangay Hall in Valencia today and asked for a household quarantine pass. I was told, "Not yet, sir."

When asked when I could get one they said, "waiting on the order from the Governor" (or perhaps mayor, they seemed pretty disinterested so I didn't ask for any further clarification).

Yes, they are taking it seriously, but far from logically....starting with the governor's office.

Probably depends on the particular bank. Went to ASia United Bank yesterday (Friday) and the guard just opened the door for me. No santitizer. No temperature.

Back to "Senior Citizens Discount Card":

As I understand it, foreign nationals are not entitled to have one and there are legal penalties if found using one and someone wishes to file a complaint. I have heard that such persons are subject to deportment.

But, it is not only Philippine citizens who can legally have one. Many of my in-laws are Filipino born and raised, but have lived in the US for decades and gave up their Philippine citizenship to become US citizens 30 years ago. But now, they are all over 70 and every one of them has a Philippine government "Senior Citizen Card." None are Philippine citizens, per se, although they could reclaim a dual citizen status (but they don't care to.)

And international norms rarely permit deportation from the land of one's birth.

Been hearing rumor that Dumaguete is going to go into a lockdown on most everything on Monday (March 30th). Anyone have any actual info regarding this ?

I was thinking of testing with a thermal scanner - but maybe they can't get those either.

Logical thinking is a skill in short supply - blame the education system of rote learning and dancing, dancing, dancing. Btw, I am not against the preservation of cultural traditions but perhaps the balance is too distorted.
