    To reply in order:
    1. I just did that with the last thread I started. It is for official-ish government announcements. Anyone can post announcements they run across on social media. I won't personally dedicate much of my time to this task as I have things I care much more about than this "quarantine". (Video games, YouTube/Netflix, keeping my alcohol inventory and BAC at a satisfactory level and making sure my nuts aren't feeling too itchy.)
    2. You can share your personal experiences in most other threads.
    3. Opinions have always been welcome here so long as you do it respectfully and in the correct sub-forum.

Look at the West to see how those less extreme measures have worked out. The Philippines is trying to take the appropriate actions. They should have been more extreme IMO. They should have banned all Chinese nationals, all flights transferring through the country and anyone that had been to the country as soon as the virus and it's severity was known and then expanded those rules to any country that started to have significant numbers of infections. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

This is really a very difficult decision to have made - give the problem to different people and you will get different answers. It seems the idea was that the virus was being knocked down but they wanted it to 'throw in the towel'. Also, people are avoiding lesser rules put in place.

I feel very sorry for the vendors and others losing their income but I cannot criticise this decision as none of us know what the outcome would be if ECQ was not put in place.

Sometimes we have to accept that others decide, we go along with it and then let them put the pieces back together again afterwards (helping if we can). Your country has done a good job in the circumstances and I don't feel any of us know enough to make the decisions they have had to make.

Like learning anything, learning how to do quarantine takes practice. Not as much practice as it takes to learn Bisaya but some practice nonetheless.

Filipinos can be proud that the Philippine government is doing a better job at this than most other countries. Nearby, Taiwan shows the world that a community well trained in how to do quarantine can easily cope with the coronavirus. Meanwhile other more affluent countries are failing at this horribly.

So Filipinos need a little practice in how to do quarantine.

The local situation is worse than we know. Currently, with very little testing, there are two confirmed cases in the local hospitals. We know statistically that only 20% of cases need hospitalization and another 20% who do not feel any symptoms leaving 60% who feel sick. Therefore, there should be another 6 infected people that feel sick and 2 others who feel healthy but are contagious and are walking around among us.

Time is of the essence! Because number of infections can grow exponentially very quickly, we need to learn how to do quarantine in advance of the outbreak. In other countries the number of contagious people can easily double every three days. In two weeks (approx 15 days) There will be 5 doubling. 8 people becomes 8 + 16 + 32 + 64 + 128 + 256.

448 contagious people is too many for the health department to do contact tracing and the system becomes out of control. (448 contagious + 56 recovered)

This is why, we as a community, need to learn how to do quarantine well. Consider this first quarantine as practice and insurance. Like a military that does war games to hone their skills and discover their weaknesses we need to do germ games to practice our ability to do quarantine.

As residents of Negros we have no choice but to stay healthy. When the virus flares up around the world there will be no one who will send us medical equipment to treat the sick.

Let's hope we are not to late and as a community, we pull together to learn how to do quarantine well.

Internationally speaking economics and the strength of currencies is relative to the strength of each countries economy. If Filipinos learn to do quarantine as well as the Taiwanese, they will be rewarded with a prosperous economy. Considering how things are going in the US and Europe, in two years Filipinos may be using US dollars as toilet paper.

what do you mean "useless"? we are talking about a quarantine, means people should stay home to avoid spreading the virus or getting infected with. makes sense to me. a quarantine where people are allowed to go out whenever they want, and roam around in an undefined neighbourhood, is not effective, counterproductive and puts our health in risk. yes, it's for Dumaguete. some of us live there, some of us have to go there for shopping etc.

    I don't know.
She only has one morning? Most people have two time slots.
The situation is pretty relaxed. I bet that if she goes at the time allowed to go into Dumaguete city the people at the roadblock will let her through.
Otherwise she should speak to her local LGU.

I have a Dumaguete blue pass, which says valid Tuesday and Friday. That conflicts with the info attached here (which I'm sure is the official line). These say Wednesday & Friday, so some confusion there.
