I think you're better off using crypto currencies or credit cards these days rather than cash, especially in countries like this one where money stinks - in every aspect.

To bad not all stores have card readers, or even if they do, sometimes they are off line. Here, cash is still king, you can't avoid it if you really need to buy something.

paying by card only makes sense if it's a contactless payment - otherwise it may well be worse than using cash (clerk touches card, you key in your pin, maybe also have to sign using their pen).

Are there any places here where contactless payments are possible already? I never paid much attention to that but now it might be a useful option.

Would be great to use cryptos but they are just too volatile.

Would anyone put money in a currency which is valued 20,000 one day and 3400 a year later?

Probably best to invent one and then make your money from when everyone else buys into it. I'm calling mine '124 Spider' - but beware, it is fiat currency.

From my experience, I think the rules are when your total amount is under 1000 pesos you can do it without signature, internationally it is done contactless around that amount but here (at least in Robinsons) they just swipe your card (no signature). And by the way, I usually don't have to enter a code here for my purchases in Hypermart, Lee Plaza or Robinson.

When it comes to use cases here they are still very much behind when it comes to crypto. But I can use my crypto.com debit card here and it works smoother and quicker than the crab cards they're using here. I can fill up my card whenever the coins are high (exchange) and use the fiat amount from there even when the coins are down.
I would consider myself quite an expert when it comes to crypto currencies and coins/tokens. This has become a complex financial system and it is the system of the future. The bankers are slowly going out of work and being replaced by BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY. That is a fact, ask JPMorgan. They are starting their own crypto now and you can feel free to do the same. But there are plenty of fiat coins already in the market. If you want to know more, send me a PM.

It is a complex system and, unfortunately, its full of people wanting to get rich quick, with minimum effort. So, as with anything, the rule is to not invest in stuff you don't understand.

Sure blockchains have their practical use, but it's not a cure all. For a few years already they throw blockchains on any problem you might think of, but I have yet to see the really revolutionary results...

Can be convenient to send money around especially if you want it to happen more or less "under the radar", but ymmv in that regard, plus, its also far from free and you will incur losses comparable to bank fees when exchanging back and forth as there's always a split between buy and sell price.
