I have just seen a video from Dumaguete city, traffic and people everywhere and very close, thought people had quarantine and should stay at home? Traffic is often very bad, but not seen anything like this

There was a video on Facebook showing the line up for the check point in Banilad. I have a feeling not a lot of people actually got into the city.
My neighbor said his wife spent 3 hours in the line up. She surrendered and went back home.

3 hours from Bacong to Robinson, they take the video when they pass by in Banilad, totally crazy. Traffic enforcers will send people in different directions than they want to go. They told me impossible to go downtown

how about using an alternative route like taking the bacong/valencia rd to the diversion rd? then there's several options to take, like going past the jail.

I know that route and for sure on bike, instead of the car, guess it's a good idea, will avoid Banilad

Wife tried to get to the bank for the second time this month and didn't make it. She left Valencia at 13:00 spent one hours and 15 minutes at the first check point and had to go through two more before getting to the bank that closed at 15:00. She got there at 15:20 and then the same back home. Wasted the hole afternoon. She was out there in the pandemic the hole afternoon for NOTHING. This sh*t going to get real crazy long before it is over.

One thing I was unsure of is what exactly are the limits on persons per vehicle. At least from what I observed, at checkpoints from Valencia to Dumaguete, the no-backriders policy seems to be enforced, but are allowing multiple people if riding in a covered, four wheel vehicle. My GF took a car in to Dumaguete and only I was asked for a Q pass. But how many per covered vehicle are allowed - I have no idea. And yes indeed, the various checkpoints downtown can really slow you down! Will try using the Waze app next time to minimize running into those congested spots. It's actually possible to go to hypermart with no checkpoints at all via some of the back roads.

Perhaps allowing more windows of opportunity to travel in to Dumaguete could lessen the crowding.

Folks in Valencia should try going over to Pamplion road and turn left on the road between Casa Alicia and El Pueblo subd and turn right at the end of the road. That is the Camanhoc/west Rovira road that goes past alle mae. Continue on crossing the north highway to airport road/Perdices to get to town center. Tanods along the way will wave you through just showing your QP.

Banks have been directed to reduce their staff levels to a skeleton crew so your banker may not be the same person depending what day you go.
