You may not have luck finding a true oral and maxillofacial surgeon in this small town. A quick check in google defaults to dentists when searching, not the specialty of dentistry you are looking for. When you can get to Cebu, Dr. Sia has his practice in Chong Hua hospital. I'm not sure why you referenced my post? Generally I don't slag off the medical professionals here but since you mentioned a few I'll comment. The Ong clinic gave me a price to repair my screwed up dental implants without even taking an x-ray. So they were scratched off my list in a heartbeat. Chung Hua took a 5000 peso CT scan/x-ray and then came up with a sketchy plan where they would try something. If that failed......and on and on. Dr Cordeta looked at the CT scan/x-ray and pointed out a massive sinus infection from 2 implants that intruded into the sinus cavity. That infection had to be corrected before anything could be done. There was bone loss around the implants due to infection. Chung Hua wanted to stuff some implant material to make up for the missing bone. The implant material never would have integrated into the jaw. Chung Hua has many dentists so possibly you had a different person. As with everything here: milage may vary and terms and conditions may apply.

You are absolutely correct I didn't provide any new information on where to find an oral surgeon. What I did provided was a heads up to some of the less than competent members of the proffession.
Mainly so that I wont experience the same bad results that you did. An Oral Surgeon is trained in oral surgery. A dentist is not. You should have gone to an Oral Surgeon for implants to begin with. I wont go to a General Practitioner if I need heart surgery either. But to each their own.
In the US that is probably true. I know in Canada my wisdom teeth were impacted and I had to be hospitalised using the service of an oral surgeon. My friend had a simple wisdom teeth extraction at a dentsit specialized in that work. I'm not sure if dentists here go out and get "specialist" qualification for doing implants and root canals. From what other people tell me about my first dentist is he has trouble pulling a tooth. Total incompetence. Good Luck
I have been to the dentist many times but never had the inclination to wear earrings. I wasn’t aware of this as being an issue for dental patients who wear earrings, but as an engineer I would have thought that if there was so much x-ray leakage that it would heat up metal if I “were” to wear it, I would definitely never agree to have x- rays performed by that dentist. + + I did find one who says he is an Oral Surgeon. Dr. Jonathan W. Cunanan, will go to check him out in May. Will follow up here with my evaluation. Pictures on FB show him to be ex military. Guessing that is where he did his internship.
This dentist specializes in budget dental work for lower income patients and does not have an xray machine on site...
