I agree. Whiskey should not taste like sweetened cough medicine.

The differences I can see, GCQ vs. ECQ

Senior age threshold reduced from 65 to 60.
Checkpoints shift to part time basis, probably just as effective in the stated aim of controlling the virus spread.
A few people with jobs who couldn’t get a Q pass do go to work now don’t need one. Assuming they still have a job.
Maybe some stores can open that are selling something that exists between the vague definitions of ‘essential’ and ‘leisure’. Something that isn’t basic life support but isn’t yet fun.
There is no cut off date so these guidelines are open-ended. They end when the governor is happy, or we are all dead, whichever is sooner.

I do not see this as an improvement.

not needing these effing passes and being stopped on every other corner is definitely an improvement.

More stores open, definitely. Even the appliance store at rob. Department store, maybe this week as well?

It would all be fine and dandy without his added "clarifications" EO that rolled back the restaurant openings that were just happening.

That would describe virtually all types of blended scotch.

Clear evidence as to how little forethought was put into composing these things.

One possible explanation I heard is that the government doesn’t want people to spend the (tiny) amelioration amounts on booze rather than food. Too much work to make and disperse vouchers for essentials, so just ban alcohol sales until... when we say so. Sounds like a believable blend of broken logic and laziness.

Like socks. I’m sure you can buy socks now but you must be under 60 and have your temp taken when entering the store. Also you must show your spanking new Easy Access Pass EAP. It’s getting better now.

Yes, I think a line has been crossed. I do not know the law here very well but I suspect that suspension of civil rights during an emergency must have a defined expiration date. But I think a lot of locals (voters) are enthusiastically behind this. Different culture, no bill of rights to get in the way etc.

On page 3 Section 4 of the EO there is a provision that allows people over 60 to go out if nobody else can do their transaction.
I would post the EO but I don't know how to get it from FB.
