Uh Oh. The only problem with the virus is that nobody wants to die. "polemic on" 50 years McDonalds, Marlboro, Miller's and NBA from the sofa, but blame it on the virus "polemic out"
My cousin, a nurse in the state of Georgia, agrees, and takes it one step further to lighten the burden on the health care industry. She circulates this "wallet treatment card" :
Having read through briefly I deduce that a number of people object to having their "Freedom" restricted, well whether you are prepared to or not to waiver your rights to medical care, in the event of catching the virus, consider this....if you have slight symtoms or if you become seriously ill, by the time it becomes apparent, you may well of given the virus to as many as 20 or more people! They might not be so lucky to survive. To put it another way, if you were living with HIV or Aids, would you continue to have unprotected sex, with unsuspecting partners ?......Just a thought. JB
the "unsuspecting partners" could have done their own part to prevent harm and be suspecting, and therefore refuse unprotected sex with someone of unknown status so it's 50% their own fault. same its with the corona virus (though admittedly its not as easy to protect yourself as with HIV, but then again, you chose the example...). want to protect yourself? stay inside / limit contact to other people. everybody else, do as you please. effectively reintroducing ecq now just because people understandably had the need to get out now that they thought they could do that again is just f*cked up.
My wife works at the local hospital, everyday she attends her imployment, like thousands of other Hospital staff or Care workers, they realise they have a higher risk of catching the virus. They also run the risk of bringing the virus home to their love ones. It may not appear to be a serious situation at present in your area or indeed in Philippines, please don't mis-under estimate this virus, it could kill more people than World War two did. We had news last night of a local Filipina Care worker who has died in a Intensive Care Unit and our friends from nearby have both registered positive ( both hospital workers ) for the virus. I realise that many people choose to ignore medical advice for other health issues as stated but this is the unseen enemy. Uh Oh......Over 30,000 have died so far in UK
50% could of done their own part ? If you trust someone and believe they have not been unfaithful eg; your partner/ husband you would assume you have nothing to fear. I simply use that as an example; bear in mind people who have had blood transfusions have been known to unwittingly contracted HIV. Whatever the case it is tragic........respectfully JB
I agree, there are people whose job it is to put themselves at risk and they cannot easily opt out. Not currently true however here in our province, where, as long as they keep borders/ports closed, there really is low to zero risk of the virus appearing out of thin air. After so many weeks without any new cases here it should really be considered to let the borders closed but allow locals free movement again, including opening shops of all kinds, restaurants, beaches, resorts and whatever to at least allow some local business and tourism to resume.
That is not true. Yes, people who are on them don't have a high survival rate but that is not because ventilators don't work, it is because people who are put on them are in critical condition with already very low odds of survival. They absolutely do raise the survival rate, unfortunately if your survival rate is already in the single digits that might not be enough. With infections it might just buy your immune system and medication enough time to fight the virus off. If you want to give up at the point when a ventilator is needed to keep you alive then that should be you right to do. Unlikely, if they are sick enough to be admitted to the ICU they likely need help from medical professionals to control their temperature, fluid levels, blood pressure, breathing, etc. ICUs aren't full of cheerleaders giving motivational speeches to patients.
