Now I know why the sari sari stores have been texting me. Only just logged on here and read about the ban being lifted. Got 4 crates of red horse. Guess who's going to get pissed tonight, at home of course.
I am sure he was. Some deviation occurs within threads at times due to people having a side-joke - in these strained times of lockdown I cannot see that is a terrible thing.
Effective tomorrow, May 20th, glad to see some are taking it one step further. Now if we can only do away with the pass system and open the restaurants once more. Was downtown today, I have heard lots about a "New Normal", drivers are still the "Old Normal".
Hope there is some left after today, my pass isn't good for today. But tomorrow the wine cellar gets a good stocking along with some more whiskeys.
I toured EVERYWHERE today and NONE to be found. :( 'He who hesitates is lost' (One of my mottos). But, hey, I am joking!
Some sari2x stores in Valencia are still under the impression that there is a liquor ban (they are waiting from paperwork from someone). I know of one with some inventory of local stuff, I won't tell you which one that is as I will be there first thing tomorrow morning with a backpack to buy whatever they have in stock, if it is within reason. However, there was liquor and wine to be had in Valencia as of 5pm this afternoon, you just had to be willing to pay a premium for it. It is odd that all these places were fully stocked before the ban. I wonder what happened to the inventory in all of these law abiding sari2x stores during ban?
I think the terrain, mountain tracks and the need to backpack on foot to get from Dumaguete to Valencia, passing 'certain' motorbike gangs on the way, is probably the reason. Have you heard of Television there yet (a box which shows pictures)? As you said "It is odd that all these places were fully stocked before the ban. I wonder what happened to the inventory in all of these law abiding sari2x stores during ban?" It almost seems as if someone might have been drinking it - a complete puzzle!
same thing happened in sibulan at a sari sari i frequent. and today, they still have their alcohol ban sign posted but slipped me a bottle of 15 year that was gathering dust. tsk tsk...
