where in the Philippines to retire to other than Negros or Siqijour. Im only 47 so a few years before it happens, but what ever gra (love) I had for this place is rapidly dwindling. If you could just up sticks and move to another part of the Phils, where would you head to, just only beginning to look at the possibilities, some here have travelled more extensively than me around these Islands

    thanks

For me it's too late. But if I could choose again, it would be Tagatay. It is a mix of rural and urban ( to Manila only 2 hours), cooler air, many expats. Property prices are rather high. But just now you might be lucky. Due to the volcano outbreak there are some good offers in the market. I really like the spectacular scenery there. If you like beaches, Batangas is not far away.

If you want GOLF here, better to spell it FLOG. But I do agree,if golf is important to you, this is not the place to be.

Have you tired Bravo Golf resort? It is an 18 hole all par 3, some long, beautiful fairways and views of the sea. They also give a discount 20% I think, to seniors.

In a former life (22 to 39) i was a master teaching professional, but no need for it here, ( do a little of it in China, but foreigners are still not welcome there yet) been to bravo went there twice just to see what's what, IMHO by making a golf course (not my words) there they have taken the charm from the land, better they left it farmland

Better if they made it into a paddy field and grow rice.

When they closed Pamplona, they closed the best course in Negros Oriental. Challenging, and scenic. In my opinion. I loved it. Could have made it a home course like I did with Marapara when I lived in Bacolod, or Victorias when I lived in Sagay.
