Obviously, whenever one looks at information, comparisons etc. it is good to keep in mind that such comparisons are only as good as the quality of the data used to produce the comparison.
    Caveats for the comparison below:
1.) it compares reported cases, and some countries may catch/report more accurately than others
2.) there are big differences in the number of tests per capita in different countries
I believe that the big picture from this graph is still valid though.
    Explanation with the graph:
Horizontal axis depicts total cases per capita, the further to the right a country is, the worse their situation.
Vertical axis depicts new cases per capita in the last week, so the higher a country sits in the graph, the faster their situation is deteriorating.
(Belgium and Spain fighting over the same spot in the graph, so not easy to read their names. Same goes for Denmark and Germany, and for South Korea and Japan) upload_2020-7-3_13-47-0.png
I will leave conclusions to the reader.

Also, please consider this graph upon one of the reasons why the United States is leading the pack...

I see. So the more you test, the more people die? Your inference if fatally flawed.

Actually the states ranks 7th in terms of deaths/million population, if you filter out a couple of very tiny countries. That's in total though, so would be much higher ranking in the last week or so.

Errm, no, not quite, yes more testing may have an impact as I already said in my original post, but if you wish to show the differences in testing between countries then it is obviously better to compare on a per capita basis, just like my first graph.
And then the conclusion is that the testing numbers (per million) are not all that much apart for most developed countries.
Caveats with this graph: some countries report persons tested, some report tests performed (even if they test each person/patient twice to make sure, and if positive, again before discharging from quarantine/hospital

Philpots, who said anything about dying? The two graphs are new infections and number of tests...I was pointing out the more you test the more you will find.

Here's the link to the graph in the original post.
    http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https...nt.com/daald/covidtrends/perCapita/index.html
You can select between reported cases or reported deaths (dropdown menu), and between logarithmic and linear scale (same), and add/delete countries for the comparison by ticking a box next to their name to the right.
Clicking the pink Play button bottom left animates the graph over time.
Use mouse to select a part of the graph to enlarge.
