Yes, it is a Jaguar Guaporte. Many of them in the lake I'm fishing, caught more of them this past Saturday than any other species. The Red Devils and Oscars have some nice coloration.
I was out today going after juvenile snook and tarpon on ultralights (a ton of fun). Got a bonus tilapia...by far the biggest tilapia I have personally caught. Shawn
The juvenile snook and tarpon were biting quite short today, so not a single one landed. Did catch a nice little 1+pound tilapia. I actually lost one that looked to be pushing 6lbs that broke me off when it ran under the dock. I've only fished this place a couple times and have yet to catch a tilapia less than a pound...which is quite nice as tilapia go. I've caught tilapia in other reservoirs in Puerto Rico but this place seems to have some jumbos. Looks to be my Saturday spot until I finish my current project in a couple months. Shawn
Well, you will need to jump on a plane to PR...but when I can get back to the PI I would absolutely enjoy doing some fishing with you. Looks like my next project will be Andros Island in the Bahamas...Bonefishing capital from what I've read, a fish I am stoked to try and catch. Don't think I will attempt fly fishing for them as I have sucked big time trying to learn that technique, but at over a year of field work projected... Will be fishing again this weekend here and hopefully catching something worth posting a pic of. Shawn
