I promote the Philippines period, I have no interest in making money as that has been well accomplished. I am not a cutout. I am (awarded by Youtube by the way) as having been the Moderstor of 50+ live chats . I have banned over 120,000 (lack of oxygen) persons. I hate ads and opt out on all and also block all. In our world their is those that make things happen, those that watch what happens and those that wonder what the h**ll happened, If you stayed current to my posts, it is clear that I set myself up for life far in advance. I depend on no-one. Governments are a huge fail in all countries. Peoples are generally humble, trible, dogmatics,....and I do not have the years it would take to educate them. I belong to numerous collection forums of certain commodities. Sorry to report, they are out the roof with new members. I do agree whole heartedly with your comment. (if it were the case I was networking to coin). Alls good and , I do agree with your take, but woe............ thats not me. On my sites I never call users name, I just ban them. I do not deal with the obtuse. Best regards

And is it not obvious that I am not talking about those type of 'streetwise' girls? Most of them can take care of themselves.

I am talking about the young inexperienced girls given a big lie who are then affected badly when the lie is revealed.

So you and I and all those who rated my post positively are in full agreement.

But now you say people who think like that have closed minds, are immature and are "sanctimonious and hypocritical". So:
    1. You have labelled yourself in that way also as you just said you agree with us.
    2. What meaning do you attach to the word 'sanctimonious'? 'Acting as if morally better than others'? If that is the case then, I agree, we are morally better than "scum foreigners who falsely promise a better life etc in order to get laid and disappear" (YOUR words) - and therefore so must you be as you said they make you sick. Or are you saying those who defend higher moral values in society are 'acting'? And how would you know that we are 'acting' if you are not aware of how we behave in our lives?
    3. I thought 'hypocritical' was already included within the definition of 'sanctimonious'.

I could list a whole pile of topics that decent people would find obscene, unpleasant, disturbing - but would I? No, of course not. A person posts something and it is the other members who let the poster know if they like the topic or not - and so do the mods in some circumstances.

So if I posted something here which many, if not all, other members found disturbing, are all of them being 'sensitive' and/or 'conservative'? Or are those members just telling me something I should already have known - that the subject is NOT something decent people want on the Forum.

Therefore, members need to make judgments BEFORE they post - otherwise posters have a free licence to post whatever they like on the Forum and it becomes home to subjects that decent (not 'sensitive') and thinking (not 'conservative') people will dislike intensely and I don't think that is what this Forum was ever intended for.

Thank you so much for the level headed response. This Forum is the only site where I remain somewhat rational and positive. Outside of this forum I am very different. I am retired so everything I do at this point, I do for fun. Philippines is awesome!

    I don't know.
DI stands for Dumaguete Info. This site is primarily about information relating to Dumaguete, Negros Oriental and the Philippines. Particularly from a foreigner point of view.

I am sure you will find other sites where you can engage with Mormons about sex and US politics.

Yes, I know what the site initials stand for. I also find that many of the discussion topics here are in no way related to information on Dumaguete. The fairly innocuous comment (in my personal view) of the original poster that started all this off WAS requesting information on Dumaguete - just so happens that a few of the regular correspondents here did not like it (their personal views). He was not saying or even hinting that he was about to rack up in Dumaguete and start breaking local girls' hearts. That interpretation has been woven into this along the way and is not something I would condone either.

To distil down to the original question, it was asking advice on whether there's a hotel or guest house in Dumaguete that a guy could take a guest (of which sex, I do not know) for one or more nights. The reference to Pattaya is what seems to have set some off foaming at the mouth and surely was an ill-judged reference when discussing Dumaguete, but hey, like another poster said, how many members here have taken some R&R there (or somewhere similar) themselves?

After having read these posts, some to be agreed with others not and some to be agreed in part and disagreed in other parts, IMHO I think his first post was rather distasteful in that it implied along with the reference to Angeles, which I may add I have never been to, that he was interested in only one thing. If you come to a place, why worry about whether the hotel you stay in will let you sneak someone past the reception desk? That to me was the dead give away and that with the other reference resulted in my response.
After 20 years of marriage, the responsibility for 4 kids, mine and hers, the joy I have had in seeing them grow from their early years into respectful, educated and hopefully, responsible adults, I think I will leave something behind when I depart this mortal coil, that will be "nice memories. Hope so any way. I sincerely hope this gentleman will do likewise but I must admit ........ I am not going to hold my breath. Enough said.

And that was the problem. Nothing else needs to be said as that topic is just something that isn't welcome here. Enough on this. Locking this thread. I will unlock it the next time I move something here.
