Spot on, that is why they are called criminals, they don't obey laws. You can pass all of the laws you want, the criminals will not obey them. Look at Australia. Either last year or the year before, they ran an amnesty program to turn in illegal firearms, netted somewhere between 35 - 50,000.

I bought my wife (In her name) a light weight pistol 10 yrs ago. Showed her how to load it and fire it but never once fired it. As my son got older and reached the top of the Safe where I stored the gun and magazine, I didn’t like haven’t a gun in the house. I read the stories regarding revenge murders (you killed my brother (while he was robbing your house) so you are now a target. So I turned the gun into the PNP HQ.

Great to hear that, at least, in spite of our shortcomings, people still feel safe in this country.

I could never shoot an intruder just for breaking into my house and burglarizing. That might even be legal here (if you can legally discharge a firearm). But I could never do it.

Therefore I would never be concerned about a revenge murder from a brother for robbing my house.

You just do not kill people for theft of personal property; human life is much more important than money or things, all of which can be replaced and life cannot.

But I 'would' have the capacity to shoot in self-defense and in defense of harm to my family if I/they were in IMMINENT danger of loss of life. I have always assumed that was the purpose of owning a firearm in the US (along with Amendment 2 rationale), not to shoot burglars.

Given those circumstances, if there were revenge killings for defending your life against an intruder who actually threatens your and/or your family's lives, I would take my chances with the ire of the brothers later on than with the immediate prospect of losing my life 'right now'.

There used to be a maker of “paltik” or homemade guns but he died of old age a long, long time ago. I wonder if someone has picked up the skill of making “paltik” or homemade guns which are as dangerous ‘coz paltik guns also kill.

I agree with you on almost all points incldg the pink panda rider. Too bad a lot of them must have been displaced or out of work when restos were allowed to operate and yes, I think these killings are mostly the work of hired guns who surely know the business of guns and that they could possibly be retired or fired military people. But maybe not all of them. Evil has found its way in people who have made taking the life of another as moneymaking venture. Authorities should get into the mastermind of this trade.

When I was younger, some gang members in the US used to make their own “zip guns” made from radio antennas broken from cars using .22 cal rounds. I don’t know what they used for firing pins but they used rubber bands for it to hit the brass shell. Nor accurate but cheap and deadly enough.

I think there is still a lot of paltiks circulating in this community. The source or maker should be tracked down so he could provide valuable source of info re his buyers & clients.

Authorities are probably THE masterminds of this trade.
