I agree about Austin Powers, Gold Member being one of my favourites. I love a Dutch accent and GM announcing that someone's body is 'very tight; tight like a tiger' I can watch over and over.
True. Also rather bothersome they didn't inform Maria Schneider the sex scenes would be real. Including the butter.....Some even claimed she was litterally raped by Brando. Surprising she kept silent and would not comment too much about it. But she was in psychiatric treatment and also had alcohol problems. No "me too" at the time. She passed away in 2011. slapstick does not take a lot of cultural sensitivity so its much easier for a filipino to appreciate it. and i think slapstick fits this culture pretty well. my wife enjoys american slapstick stuff and action films. i am sure citizen kane would be torture. i have tried to watch filipino movies with her but it just goes straight to nap time. most of them appear to me to be mostly visual entertainment rather than thought provoking, (but then i no speaka da language)
That's why my wife likes the amateur videos of people falling off bikes or hitting their b*lls on fences!
yes jean de florette is a great suggestion... not sure if you've ever watched the french film "incendies"... but highly recommend... one of the best thrillers ever made.
I laughed so hard and shocked at the same time. I even covered mine when I watched hitting their b*lls.
What's Old can become New again. Would like to revive this thread to now include (Any NEW Movies Seen lately you enjoyed?) I watched a Movie on a streaming site called (Sisu) Wow!!!! A Goldminer back in 1944 being hunted by NAZI's. This is a watch more than once IMHO.
