Got only 1 month extension November 25.
Going to try to get srrv anyway. Wish me luck. Otherwise there will be another illegall foreigner here. Guess I'll have to move fast.

Why did you only get a one month extension? What type of visa? How long have you been here?

In the meantime going to look for another place to live just in case I don't get srrv in time. Will have to hide from the law.

I'm sorry didn't explain correctly. I was trying to get the extension thru bi here. They applied to immigration in Manila as my leave date is this coming Sunday. I applied over 2 months ago. Also worst case scenario if I stay illegally would that put my gf in trouble if I get caught?

If you are one month short of 3 years on a tourist visa you have waited far too long to start looking into other visa options. Unless you can talk to immigration about getting some sort of special extension on a tourist visa I believe you will be SOL and will need to leave the country.

No. Immigration can do nothing to your Filipina gf...unless she has assisted you in deceiving or defrauding the government in some way. That probably isn't a concern. What should be a concern is you being blacklisted from coming back to the Philippines for overstaying.

If you only have 30 days left in the country legally you are in quite an uncharted predicament. I hope you are flexible with your travel destinations and have a decent amount saved up for testing, hotel stays, quarantines and healthcare expenses.

It was an extension application. There is no "application for overstaying". You had 3 years to get your act together and figure this stuff out. I don't think you understand immigration policy of the Philippines. It sounds to me that you are on a tourist visa, have been here the maximum 3 years, overstayed and are now trying to convert to a different type of visa. I would advise that you learn the basic types of visas in the country and what the pros and cons and the requirements for each of them are. If you are legally married (and plan on staying that way) you are, IMO, wasting your time with a retirement visa. Just go for the 13A visa. Unfortunately, overstaying will not look good when converting to another type of visa. You have made your bed by not knowing it learning the basics of immigration policy, you have no choice but to do what immigration tells you.

I would link you to the appropriate BoI information but their website is currently down.

Than why did they give me an extension beyond my leave date. My leave date was today an I now have until the 25th of next month

I have not overstayed. I also didn't say everything on here. I don't have a spline which greatly increases the risk of contacting the virus. Second I called the airport months ago an told them I can't get up an down stairs without help. They told me I would have to have someone with me. I had surgery on my knee an even with P.T. it hasn't healed correctly. So my gf was told by the B..I that I may be able to get a extension for reason of medical issues. So I applied thru them here in dumaguete. They did give me one month extension past my leave date. It took 10 weeks to get a reply. Also My gf has SPA special power of attorney an has been doing my extensions since my knee surgery. An sometimes communication Is difficult as I'm sure you may know. Otherwise I have been following the rules. I left 3 years ago an came back as I was required to.
