A simple question for a "moderator" why not move political issues, to the controversial section. Some people think it is funny, some don't, but most will agree it is controversial.
"Fighting the virus with humor". This is the COVID "where's the humor" thread. If you don't have a sense of humor ignore this thread, simple as that. COVID and politics are intertwined. You can not separate them. If you see something you don't like or agree with feel free to respectfully debate the issue or just move on. If this BS where people give negative ratings to things they don't agree with continues I will remove negative ratings from this subforum again, remove the user's ability to give ratings, issue warning points or give bans. (I think this is why I removed them the first time around.)
I agree. I see many things I disagree with here, including not-funny humour. I either ignore, or if I feel strongly enough I comment with my view. Not sure what the negative ratings are for really.
Negative ratings lessen the load on moderators and works as way for members to self-moderate. If new users, or those with few posts, get enough of them (based on a posts:negative ratings ratio) from members they will automatically get temporarily banned and make it to where their posts need moderator approval before going public...getting a high enough ratio will result in a permanent ban. If you see the gray "Infamous" banner next to a username this is usually the reason for that. It has worked well at quickly removing trolls and idiots from the forum so far...so long as the feature isn't abused by members: https://dumagueteinfo.com/board/members/?type=negative_ratings This is why those who abuse the feature will quickly earn warning points and/or lose their ability to give ratings.
