Hello, as a Philippine Resident, I have two private cars to bring down from our home in Subic Luzon to hopefully our new home in Dumaguete, early 2021.
Our plan would be to take 3 Ro/Ro's from Batangas>Mindoro>Panay >Bacolod:

Has anyone got the latest Covid Rules/Restrictions to make this road journey and whether Ro/Ro's are taking private cars from a very safe zone in Subic Freeport?
    Thanks,

That may take months with all the quarantines you could be subject to. You might be better off going to Manila and getting the overnight ferry straight to Dumaguete...if it still runs. If it doesn't you could find a company that could ship it all for you.

Perhaps someone can give you more information on documents that could give you passage through all the province you would need to travel through to get to Dumaguete but at the rate rules are changing here I believe any such information could become quickly outdated.

A bit off-topic (something very unusual for me) but are you having a house built in or near Dumaguete?

Thanks...... I am curious to know if the DUMAGUETE to CEBU Ferry is running again for private cars?
Have not decided yet, we will live on our boat, get a feel for the area and properties, then buy....
It is always a learning curve as we found living in Puerto Galera for 6 years, then Subic for 14.
We are still searching for the right property which is why we are eager to get down there after we drydock the boat and start looking around.

You most likely won't stay either 6 nor 14 years in Dumaguete

After this covid thing has ended, expect to see multiple people rushing out.

Might want to check out the threads about what is going on with people living on boats down here and what Customs is doing about taxes. Lots of discussion going on, and not just on this forum, in public areas that some expats hang out in that are actually experiencing it.

Hi Pelagic, I'm pretty new in this area and I'm curious what you intend to do with your yacht. I was thinking to try and get mine here but there is the issue of duty and a place to maintain a keel boat. The only sheltered bay here would be Tambobo Bay. There are no real haul out facilities that I know of there. I read that liveaboards were being hit with import duty even if foreign registered vessels, despite agreement to the contrary elsewhere. It may depend on if your visa is long term or tourist as to how they view it. I think your best bet to avoid multiple quarantine would be to ship your vehicles by transporter. I would check some of the dealerships for capacity. They must have transport options to the provinces.
    Regards

Hi, I asked a contact in the trade in Manila and they said they drive vehicles to Batangas to ship as its much cheaper. Their question was, what are your vehicles, make and model. My contact suggested they could ask their shipping agent what options they have.
    Regards
