Looking to install glass balustrades on two second floor balconies and also an internal staircase. I can find suppliers in Manila but no luck so far in Dumaguete. Fall back would be painted aluminium rails for the outside balcones. My builder wants to use painted iron for the outside balconies but I am sure that would end up rusting. Anyone know any suppliers/installers?

I have iron rails on my balcony. Need to use red-oxide primer x2 coats then a suitable metal top coat. Mine have lasted so far 4 years and I live 200 meters from the sea.

Thank you. I shall get your advice followed if I cannot source aluminium railings from Cebu.

    Just a suggestion:
Aluminium corrodes significantly in a saltwater atmosphere and, as you suggest, eventually carbon steel will rust and show through any coating. Have you thought of using stainless steel? The glass mounting kits in SS can be bought online through various outlets (Carousel, Lazada, Shopee etc). I'm pretty sure the rails etc can be sourced through Polaris as they have the swimming pool rails and stairs fabricated in SS.

If the aluminium has been powder coated it should last a while. We are well away from the sea. Good suggestion re SS. In the new year I shall try to get a response from OneSky re their aluminium railings and see if they can be shipped from Manila.

i haven't been in Omega since they moved to their new location but they had propeller shaft at their old place; i'd assume the shafts are corrosion resistant.
