This will never end. This time Sibulan. Next time Bacong. Then Dauin aso. There is only one solution and that is: vaccinate. Unfortunately the Philippines has a population of over 100 mio. and I don't think it will be possible to make the vaccine available for everybody. So lockdowns until the virus is maybe getting weaker or there will be a herd immunity or the population will decrease to 80 mio due to this covid-19. Gesendet von meinem SM-N950F mit Tapatalk
First the negative: It is going to take a long time to vaccinate the majority of citizens here, as you said. Now the positive: It WILL end - with a combination of controls and some countries building up herd immunity, there will be a fire-break. The virus is NOT an Ebola and so individuals can continue to protect themselves, just as most have done for the past 9 months. World Wars took years to come out of and perhaps in this age we seek only very short-term solutions.
This virus does not have a 20 percent mortality rate. Not even close. Your numbers could only happen if 100% of the population was 85 or older and even then it would be a stretch to hit 20M COVID deaths even if every single person was infected. Don't spread fear like this.
I'm not surprised cases are going up, went to pay SSS, It was a f'ing disgrace. No distances at all, everyone pushing against each other. Even in the waiting tent out side the chairs were not at distances. Said to wife, no way I'm not going in with that rabble. Only takes one with covid-19.
I have noticed in most places the social distancing enforcement a bit lacking, checkout queues are worst, i think most people maybe have a fear that if they are not 6" from the person in front that they might lose their place in the queue.
