I saw saw the post. Funny stuff. I don't recall ever seeing a car seat for sale in the country. And 12 years old? Do they make them that big?

Has been clarified not required for kids over 4' 11''.....but how inane when you see 2/3 kids with parents on a motorcycle every day.

We’ve had a baby seat in Manila that was suitable for up to 3 years maybe. SM department store had quite the selection back then.

Of course a completely useless law in terms of lowering casualties among children, when most of those who get hurt or die in traffic were rather hit by than sitting in a car.

Usually for the bigger kids up to 12 it’s just a device to let them sit higher so the seat belt can hold them back properly in case of an accident. At least that’s the way it is Germany.

What about adults under 5’...

Had a car seat since our son was born, they make them according to size and we are on our 2nd one and about to buy a third that uses the new attachment Isofix (in late model cars only) anchored into the seat instead of a seatbelt. Not only does it protect the child it provides peace of mind for the driver with the little urchin safely strapped in. When they get bigger the seat will adjust into a "booster seat" which allows the seatbelt to be used properly on a small one

Even in Europe we heard and are aware about it.
In fact a good thing. If you see how many mothers are on the front seat with their baby or kid on their lap.
I know, I know,...what about the scooters and kids in front?
Same for me. Cops should let them pay also.
