I am still happy with my Airlink service. I've had them for over three years, very fast and reliable. A bit expensive, but at my location I have no other option except Globe wifi which I tried and barely could get a 1M connection. With Airlink I'm paying for a 15M service, but my speed averages between 20M to 25M.

Its worth trying local machine DNS changes. Easy to do in Win 10, many to pick from 10 Best Free Public DNS Servers For Better Browsing - eCloudBuzz
Youtube has plenty of guides on how to do it. I just set my windows devices for Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 which often improves page load and lookup times. If its not set it will default to the ISP (Fil Products) DNS which is not always the best. Easy to revert back if you feel like its giving you problems and its also easy to change on android phones.

I use Fil Products in Val, good speeds, overhead seems to be there (consistently over the Mbps I pay for). Their back end is PLDT fiber (I think they are discussing with DITO when they arrive which might help drive prices down). I think you might also find the bandwidth internally in PH is okay but the big bandwidth limitations come in the submarine cables outward from PH to the world so speedtest might be fine but globally pages and downloads may load slow if the content are not replicated on servers in the country.

Try DNS before giving Fil Products the flick as I think they are actually good and if you have every tried to turn off PLDT even after contract periods are finished you will never go near them.

You mentioned that filproducts uses the pldt backbone.
The submarine cable may be the limiting factor when communicating to the outside world.
This leads me to a question ⁉️.
Who pays for the data on the submarine cable?
    Filproducts, pldt or someone else.

I've had filproducts for about 5 months and it has been great almost all the time. My 20 Mbps subscription usually speed tests above that.

Mobile Operators and ISP's buy bandwidth some of the bigger ones lay there own with other companies, I think its limited or maxed out getting into the Philippines. PLDT did a big upgrade in September 2020, there is some good local info here @ https://interaksyon.philstar.com/ho...ternet-including-connectivity-in-philippines/

Maybe Elons satellite array will take the pressure of the submarine network in the coming 5-10 years. We have to continue getting cat videos at ever increasing resolution delivered smoothly to educate tomorrows kids.

You are very lucky if you are getting above your contracted speed with Airlink. I have the maximum 15mbps version and rarely get above 10mbps, often as low as 5mbps. Hence moving to Fil Product cable at 20mbps for less than half the cost. Anyone want to buy a 20 foot aerial?
