In 30 years time I think your 30k rent will become more than 100k per month.

Dose a builder in the Philippines need to be licensed?

Or can you employ workers and build / supervise yourself ?

Not that I plan to just curious

My wife and I have designed several houses and had them built by employing local workers whilst supervising the build ourselves. The wife does all the canvassing for materials etc to avoid the "foreigner pricing" effect.
It works well as long as it's closely supervised.

Sir, maybe you can give me the benefit of your experience in the building trade?
I have a CHB wall to render should I add a water proofer to the mix such as Sahara or is it OK without, what is the best mix ratio for example 3 graded sand and 1 of cement and the desired thickness of the render? and also should this render start from the foundation level or is it OK from just below the soil level? I'll thank you now if you can find the time to give me these answers. Dave

    Hi Dave,
Generally we don't use a water proofer in the mix but there's no harm in doing so if that's your preference. My guys use a mix ration of 2:1 (fine sand:cement), apply it to a thickness of about 10mm and start from just below soil level (about 1/2-1 block).
    Hope this helps. Steve
