    6 brownouts in 6 days.

Are they going for the magic 10 out of 10?

The good news is that I saw a NORECO Vehicle that had an emergency flashing light on the roof. Now they can pull over once an hour , gaze a few moments at it to be reminded what a working light looks like.

    I have two questions

    1) Why do they have so many brown outs, same in Thailand.
    2) Why is it called a brown out, in Aust its a black out

    - There are so many brown outs as every time they need to fix a downed pole or a Rat gets electrocuted and all the other in between fix's..... cutting power is the safe avenue here.....that way they can do the fix and log into FaceBook at the same time.
    - The term brownout comes from the dimming of incandescent lighting when the voltage reduces. A voltage reduction may be an effect of disruption of an electrical grid, or may occasionally be imposed in an effort to reduce load and prevent a power outage, known as a blackout.
This leaves the 2 definitions witch is "brown out" and "black out" As this is the Philippines, one of the 2 by default is "out of stock"......... hence no Black out.

I have lived in Thailand for almost 3 years and never experienced one single brown out.

OK, then I understand. Up north they have brown outs. I was mostly in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya.

Good question, they are "blackouts." Never had a "brownout" in my area in five years.

Big Problem, i'm guessing, is a very VERY poorly designed and installed isolation / distribution system, lacking even the most basic switches. I've had newspaper people admit to me that NORECO appointed and elected people are not addressing the problem.. With all the pretty press releases, you think that SOMEONE AT NORECO could address the disconnect problem publicly ??????

NORECO is a private entity. Their primary objective is to make money. They seem to understand that when things are not going your way the best thing to do is to just STFU and the public, with their short attention span, will soon forget what you have done. Every company in the world could learn from NORECO; when people are pissed at you STFU, just STFU.
