    I am going after PLDT for extortion, in connection with claims from them on services not delivered.

    Who is top lawyers in the area?

    They are using lawyer to collect, so it's hard against hard now.

    You should thoroughly read the fine print in their terms of service before contacting a lawyer. I bet they have their bases covered there when it comes to slow service (if that is the issue).

    Also, would their actions really fall under the legal definition of extortion. Have they threatened you by "intimidation, with violence, or damage to your reputation"? (Threatening to collect money through litigation probably isn't going to meet that definition since that is the lawful way to resolve disputes.)

    I know it sucks, but think hard if your time and nerves are worth the couple thousand pesos.

    And it is also important to remember that if you lose you will likely be responsible for their attorney fees along with yours.

    PLDT is a faceless man, every lawyer will be licking his lips hoping you knock on his door, as its
    a hands-down win for him, the contract will be watertight in its own right with the blessing of a local lawyer and the judge too, forget about it man, pay the lady and leave the bed, take it on the chin and move on, knowing that any other services you might sign up for here will also come with the same shrug of the shoulders/out of stock mentality, and don't ignore paying what you owe, as when they get the bit in the teeth, they will take what you have, don't take it personally you only have to go on to their Facebook page to see the locals rage towards them, so its not just you

    I had a fight and won from Globe, but I didn't choose for a lawyer. Instead I had the Consumer Protection Group of the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) backing me up. Globe bend over backwards for me as soon as the DTI became involved and compensated me fully in record time. Good luck!

    After moving from one address with PLDT to another address where neighbors have PLDT, they have yet taken any action to come to install in new address. It's now 7 months with us trying to get the service, and them pushing for pay.

    They engaged with a lawyer to collect now 19.000 pesos.

    We where told that you commit to 3 year contract and if break contract, it would be 3 months pay. We been trying to get the bloody installation for 7 months and always someone promise to 'create a ticket'.

    Also told you can move to another area where they provide the services. Neighbors had PLDT, it's even installed new one 15m away from us AFTER we asked for it.

    Latest developments is they had an attorney send a demand for payment.

    So yeah, will read all small text and gather all correspondence, contact DTI.

    Does that mean your monthly payment to them is over 6000 or are they claiming 7 months payment ?
    I am interested in your situation as we are PLDT customers and we are moving soon to a location that PLDT has no service yet.

    Yes - go the DTI route. But keep in mind that PLDT will lose more than 19k if your review means just one member here changes their mind about using their service - although few companies worry about that too much as they build 'churn' into their business model.

    I love the fact that the Chinese are rapidly building out 5G in this country, using European and American knowledge in how to build infrastructure.
