Who is best lawyer in the area? Going after PLDT

I am sure they have the legal right to charge for any remaining part of the Contract (not referring to @ThatNewGuy here as he appears to be trying to continue the service) - but any reasonable company (lol) should allow the new resident to take over the Contract (if they wish to do so). But this is a Thir..... (oops, almost said it again Mr cB).

 

So much in this country that almost seems like a joke to me. Coming from a more developed part of the world. But hey! Lots of guys coming from the west have never lived a comfortable life anytime in their life, so this place is great with the extra dating scene and coconut wine.

Before you go to a lawyer, I would suggest that you visit the DTI ( department of tade and industry ) office located upstairs next door to BPI, San Jose Street. Take all your evidence including emails and text messages. They will let you know if they can help if the PLDT is not fulfilling their contract or if not they will tell you what legal recourse you may have. I would make the lawyer my last choice, as the cost may be exhorbitant and the outcome not to your liking. I had a problem with Cignal where they demanded money, even though I compied with the contract termination rules. DTI told me to ignore all bills as they would resolve the problem. A couple of months later all billing ceased.

 

But you just have to love it.

 

My PLDT went out 20 th of April, they finally came on the 28 th. It was out because a phillsouth concrete mixer wagon hit a lot of lines so PLDT were not to blame. What they are guilty is a service which takes 9 days to fix a broken line. I am waiting to see what ditto can come up with and I maybe will swap suppliers.

 

I read a lot of negatives now about their service - which is a shame as they had such a positive build up when they started to roll out fibre. Have to remember that you can't do business without customers.

 

Unfortunately, there are no options. SMART is just as bad as PLDT. Acutally, if I am not mistaken, PLDT bought out Smart, and in January Smart bought out SUN. So now it is almost a complete monopoly. I have a passionate dislike of Smart, having to put up with their fraud for some years. They would go days, weeks and at final stretch was months with zero service, no signal. Customer service is a joke. It does not exist except that it hires a bunch of clueless kids to man the phones and tell you they will expedite the matter to a manager, which, of course never happens.

As per your case, I do not see how they can legally claim you are violating the contract if they have not even installed the service in your new location. Still, I agree with above that you should contact DTI.

 

You are not the first person I heard who used DTI and got good results, and this was before Duterte’s Police State intimidation tactics
