If people will not wear masks properly or at all and social distancing is nonexistent then what else is there to do ? We have had all these discussions ad nauseum

I agree with you completely. I just like to note when someone finds something inconvenient that they were previously a proponent for. You could take your equation a step further though.

"If people will not wear masks properly or at all", the economy can't stand a lockdown, "and social distancing is nonexistent then what else is there to do?"

What's the odds of the current lockdown situation and more importantly the alcohol ban being extended beyond the 15th ?

On 19th July the UK Government will allow people to gather again with face masks optional, we can expect a 3rd wave here too!
With Spain and Greece declaring an increase in the spread of the Delta variant and travel opening up again, I can see possible new lock-downs inUK.
Try to enjoy the fresh air but avoid crowded places is my advice, I stick to early or late shopping which seems to be best to restrict close contact.

I would still wear a face mask, vaccination or no. Nothing is 100% and so people need more than one thing.
