It's not a solar setup, just two solar batteries wired in series to make them 24v. I use a 24v inverter to charge them up from the ac when there is no brownout.
Thinking of getting a couple of solar panels to hook them up to the batteries.

I have a similar set-up to jimeve but use an old car battery (N70) at the moment with a 2kW pure sine wave power inverter (6kW peak - 12VDC to 220VAC). Runs my PC with dual screens, internal & external antenna, router etc for about 9 hours. Total cost approx P2500 inc cables, but add around P6k-P8k if you want a new battery. I also intend to convert to solar eventually.

I didn't think car batteries were suited for this type of use. Wouldn't that wear out rather quickly?

If you tell people that the main hospital in this province doesn't have a generator they would look at you and call you a liar..

They're not really, but I'd just changed our car battery so decided to use the old one to test the system out. I'll replace it with a deep cycle battery when it packs up and then configure the system permanently into our consumer unit with an automatic transfer switch (cost approx P2k ish). When the mains supply is on it will operate as normal and when it goes off the ATS switches to the battery supply - and back again when the mains supply returns. Quite simple and inexpensive.

    I don't know.
I would be one of those people.

The vaccine is distributed to many remote barangay health centers. I assume this is why they postponed the brownout. Furthermore the hospital probably only has one backup generator.
