I am looking for someone to remove some rock/boulders in valencia. Would anyone have a suggestion. Some rocks are above ground and are about the size of a small car and some are just sticking up above ground with no idea how large they are below. I am guessing a excavator/backhoe and a dump truck would be needed. Here are some pics of what is here.

    Thanks for any input.

If it is basalt, that would weigh about 3000kg per cubic meter. So if you got some fairly big rocks they may indeed need a fair bit of breaking up before it can be moved/loaded onto a truck.
I am by no means an expert in the field but my guess would be it can get fairly expensive.

I have lots on our property in Balugo, Sibulan,, some of these things are like the statues on Easter Island,, only the tops are showing. These are from the last time Mount Talinis blew up.. I started to dig one out with the locals,, its was at least 10 ft across in all directions and who knows how deep it was, we stopped at 5 ft below ground level..

    I don't know.
I have done this very thing here in Valencia, I hired a little Back Hoe from Santillian, I think it cost me around P1100 per hour plus fuel and transport cost, my neighbour with the same problem hired a one man outfit much cheaper but he was useless, the SRT machines are held together with string but they have around three of them for back up, the driver they use is great at his job we had him for, quite a few days, he was that good I gave him an extra P200 a day in his pocket, Oh My could he make that machine Dance, but that did give me a problem at one point when the Karaoke started across the street, he was doing all the Michael Jackson moves with him machine.

We are building at this time at the north end of Smith Street near the big Rock that sits beside the road on the footway, come and see me if you wish, just maybe I could give you a few more ideas if/when you hire this machine? you can get a better price from SRT if you speak with the owner Ronnie directly.

Much of the smaller rocks we saved and used in the bottom of leaching tanks to assist the drainage, the larger ones were just buried where they were or rolled to another location to be buried there, out with the area of the house build.

no knowing where this might end up money wise as you move one might just expose another, one of the smaller ones might only be 5% exposed and might have a whole world of hurt and needless waste of funds are you moving them purely for aesthetics, (just to clean up and look better )or planning to build there, if building might be better remove the exposed ones only or indeed just build over them on raised stilts (plenty of videos on youtube on guys breaking and cutting rocks with a serious amount of patience and a drill and some different size chisels), maybe expose them by a foot or two and then break them with the chisels (easier said than done)

I ended up going with Santillian, they used the medium size track hoe for 2200p an hour and 5k for delivery. The first day the guy worked fast but the next he sand bagged on me a bit so ended up 9 and half hours. So now half of my lot has buried boulders on it but its clean, I just need to figure out a good spot for the septic tank where there are no hidden rocks.

I think you were stung by SRT, sometimes if you deal with the owner direct Ronnie, you can get a far better price, I guess I was lucky with the small machine he has, the driver of that was excellent.

Whatever way you build your septic tank do not use the pure Portland use the Pozzolan blended, the pure is high in Hydro Chlorates or something of that nature? and the sulphates in a septic eat it away, much the same for any underground work even foundations in mineral soils, in fact just use the Pozzolan for everything and you cannot go wrong, I know many will try and dispute this, when I asked for the Pozzolan from the hardware stores the assistants will tell me all foreigners use the more expensive Premium Portland, you do get slightly more working time with blended before it sets, I have also been advised to slightly dish the bottom of the digestive tanks and they work better in this manner, can't say either way if this is true or not, but it does seem to work?

If you care to google Portland vs Blended, you will see that the blended are more commonly used in first world countries.

fly ash is the king .......very very very simply take the ash from local fires...........its older than time itself, simply collect the ash from previous fires and add to cement ..........thats the fancy name for pozzolan if its good enough for the Romans and what they left for us to marvel at should hit the mark from cement companies rubbish advertising
