Forgive the rant, but today's "caravan visit" to Sibulan was a confused melee and, in the end, probably a superspreader event. Announced was one thousand Pfizer "first shots" available starting 8 a.m. Those arriving 7 a.m. found that all numbers had been given out by 3 a.m. Possibly it began at 12 a.m. Later that day, possibly mid-afternoon, another one thousand was released, it was said, by the governor. (Alternate rumor, 500 by the mayor. But I believe 1000 is correct. Casablanca Restaurant posted a photo of its employees' tickets, numbered in the 1900+ range. People were coming for Pfizer from Dumaguete!) I happened to drive by around 2:30. To my bemusement, inside the "covered court" people were largely seated and spaced apart, listening to blurred announcements. But at the gate there was a scrum to enter, backed up a long line. No social distancing. Given that these were all unvaccinated persons, of whom an estimated 30% (per Dr. Estacion) carry the [probably Delta variant] virus, I would view it as a superspreader event. Good luck, Valencia, Tanjay and all. The U.S. experience cautions us to wait. The initial mob desperation to get the vaccine will dwindle into the health authorities begging the last of us to show up.
If a member had grasped the fact that it is "today at 8.22 a.m." then he would not have asked the question. He seeks clarification - we all do in the mass of misinformation here - and so "Yes" or "Yes, that's correct" would do as an answer.
