Hope all is well folks News filtering through here in UK of winds of over 100mph in some parts of Philippines
Still no electricity but phone signal is finally back in Dumaguete City. Couple uprooted trees and mostly light damage to buildings, if any from what I can tell. Power lines along the highway between Bacong and Dgt got messed up badly.
No electric, water, wifi in Bacong, maybe back next year, Happy Christmas everyone, for sure resorts with generator will be fully booked, not easy when you have animals
Valencia has no water, hearing water is still on on some parts of DGT. Internet with FilProducts has just come back on this morning at 9.30am, Globe cellular was running after the storm in the morning then died at about 10.30am and is still off. Perhaps the lack of generator backup and the long time for power restoration they may have decided to switch it off. Hearing Smart is still working okay in Valencia at least. Can you run a generator for 3 weeks? I would be happy of Valencia water comes back on..
Power is back in Dgt. Globe still offline, as well as card payment devices / most ATMs. Long queues at the ATMs at Robinsons which were working until they ran out of money (Don’t ask how I know ).
The ATM thing is a pain. I am guessing no credit/debit card readers are working either. Should have got cash prior to the typhoon. Luckily I had over P5k in change laying around the house. Should hold me off until the ATMs are back up. Dogs thrilled about it since I had a stockpile of chicken and bacon in the ref and freezer, they are eating awesome. I'm not so thrilled about this forced carnivore diet. Still no Globe in Valencia. Smart SIM in the car is working well. Just chilling (with the aircon) in the car a couple times a day. Charging phone and laptops at in the car and in bars. Our compound and surrounding area's electrical here in Valencia (West Balabag) took a beating. Lots of trees down on power lines. Will probably be a week before it gets fixed. We have water but may be running on tank reserves. Took a drive up the mountain yesterday (above the cell towers...went to check if they were still standing) and it is pretty rough up there. Going to be awhile before they get back to 'pandemic normal'.
Yay FilProducts! FilProducts was online until about 10 am Friday after the Typhoon the night before. Back on sometime earlier today (Saturday). Pulantubig Substation feeders energized: This includes Daro to Valencia to Dumaguete and parts of Bacong. This may not help you much if there are downed power lines in your neighborhood. My neighborhood has lines broken from falling trees. So no electricity here. I hope the local circuit was tripped before they energized it. Be careful to avoid downed power lines.
