I was asked to put the word out in hope that maybe someone on the forum will have, or know someone who has, a boat and would be willing to use it to help Bais city recover from the devastation of Typhoon Odette. The Bais port was mostly destroyed and the island barangay Olympia was also hit hard. Right now the quickest way to get any relief to Olympia is out of the Tampi port but there is no regular shipping service. So there is a volunteer effort on to get private vessels to bring suplies from Tampi directly to Olympia Island off the Bais coastline. If you can help with a boat, or know someone who can, please contact Melanie Macias (0920 900 0113) who is coordinating the effort. The boat must be capable of carrying up to 3' x 12' metal sheets (92 cm x 370 cm).
