    I realize that it's only one view of something (currency pair analysis) that's quite complicated, but when looking at a longer term graph it doesn't seem very likely that the peso will weaken (much) beyond current levels in the near future.

    You may be correct but Black Swans pop up at times. Perhaps as the UK prospers due to Brexit ( :smile: )and the Philippines continues to be beset by natural disasters (with serious typhoons likely to become more common), the balance might change. However, the Peso/£ exchange rate has just again fallen to below P70 immediately after being on the cusp!

    I don't think it is arbitrary, there are anti-money laundering and drug laws they are subject to. They don't publish all of rules for the same reason tech companies don't publish all of their security/fraud rules; if people knew exactly how it worked they could (and absolutely would) easily work around those rules.
