    This is our latest experience of financial racism.
    My wife has filipino friends with a new puppy and they told her of a guy who does 1 week intensive training sessions for 5000p, the dog stays at his place and you supply the food.
    When she contacted him (by messenger so he saw her last name) the price was 7000p:greedy:
    She questioned this and asked why her friend was only charged 5000p, he said he only decided yesterday that 5000p was not enough.
    I know there's a pandemic and a war in Ukraine but a 40% increase can only be described as disgusting..............

    That might be the case that he found the work demanded a higher fee. The only way you can verify discrimination is to have another Filipino contact him for the same service at the prior price of 5k.... just saying :smile:

    One week of"intensive" work for 7k ($133)? At that price my concern would be with the results, not the guy trying to pay his bill and feed his kids. If the dog came out well trained (and with all the body parts I dropped it off with) for that price I would be very pleased.

    Why are you so sure it is your long nose surname that caused the price increase and not the painfully obvious inflation we are all seeing and feeling? Share the contract information. I'll have my gf (that has a very Filipino surname) call and see what the price is.

    I don't know.
    I must say I was kind of shocked when I read this? you being Scottish like myself I will say this in way you will better understand;
    Ye must be aff yer fecking heid to gie yer Dug tae a Pinoy tae be trained?
    Intensive training here likely translates to a week of extensive beatings? For the most part Filipinos show very little compassion for animals they even fight Dogs here just like they do with Chickens, I do not believe for one moment it is possible to train an animal all that much in a week? I once spoke with a Dog trainer that did the evening classes where people take their own animal, it is not the Dog that gets trained but more a case of teaching the owner how to control their Dog.

    Training a Dog is not all that difficult but the owner must be dedicated to the job in hand and this entails repeating your command to the Dog many times over and eventually they get the message, when I see an owner walking with his Dog on the leash and it is pulling him along fighting him to go his way, I know this is not a well trained Dog and not a very well trained owner.

    However once I was standing at a Pedestrian crossing next to a blind man with his guide Dog and the Dog lifts its leg and pissed on the leg of its owner, well the owner then gets a dog treat out of his pocket to give to his Dog, I thought this very strange and asked the owner why he did this and his reply to me was; don't be fecking stupid I have to give the Dog a treat when he behaves badly, that way I can find which end his head is at so I can kick it up the Arse.

    Has been a dogtrainer for years, first thing, we teach people how to train their dogs, we don't train their dogs. Only when the dog exhibits abnormal behavior agression, nervousness or can not get along with other dogs do we actively go in and take over the dog while showing and instruction the dog owner how to solve the problem in pratice. Most basic things all dogowner should learn their dogs is, walk in a line beside you, come when you call and either sit down lay down and stay on the spot on your command, safety reasons. I need to admit it's not that easy to train askals/streetdogs as it it with most purebred dogs, I don't know why but for sure there are a difference. You can learn an askal to follow you in line and sit/laydown commands but they are just not that receptive to training. If anyone have a problem with their dogs they are welcome to ask me advise for free, up to you if you want to follow my advise. I have experienced throgh many years as a dogtrainer there are more problem people than there are problem dogs
