Finished painting homes. When 1st built they used water-based which seemed to collect dirt and dust. This time I used Acrylic (2 coats) as you can just hose it down to keep clean.

Agreed. I did our house in acrylic over 6 years ago and it still looks "as new" (coincidentally, same colour as yours too)

Glad to hear you built a home. These are my 2nd and 3rd builds. Behind these 2 homes is a 2 story 4 bedroom that is cement 1st floor and top floor all wood. Would not build ever again with wood here, just does not fare well. Wanted to have a few as in the future I have options to rent out.

I know what you mean. Built our first home 11 years ago, wood framed on concrete columns - still OK but showing its age. Next one will be built into the side of a hill facing down the valley, but still finalising best materials. No need to rush here. Take your time, source good materials and supervise it personally every step of the way - then you only have yourself to blame if the outcome is not to the standard you expected. Don't be afraid to fire a crew (and hire new) for not doing as instructed - they do learn and eventually respect you for it. Just speaking from experience.
